That, in and of itself, is out of our control.
It's an inevitable part of living, it's part of the deal.
What we can control is how we react, how we respond.
That depends on how we choose to perceive things,
and on whether or not we understand that we have a choice
and that this choice matters.
In fact, not only does it matter -
it is the one thing that makes all the difference.
I love remembering this poem in my personal
life in challenging times, especially when I don't
seem to respond so well.
I find it so beneficial that often times I share it with my clients,
my students, my family, and my friends.
I hope you find it inspiring and useful, and that it
will come back to your awareness in those challenging
times - as many times all we need is just a good reminder.
To your better life,
